Obituary of Madeline Howley

Madeline Howley February 16, 1927 - February 16, 1927 Madeline (Gallagher) Howley, age 81, of Shepard Road, Danbury, wife of the late William Howley, died at Laurel Ridge in Ridgefield on Thursday, January 15th. She was born in Hartford on February 16, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph and Albina (Lamoureux) Morits. She was a graduate of St. Peter School in Danbury. Mrs. Howley was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury, where she participated in the Ladies Guild and Senior Citizen's Group. She was also a member of the Germantown Hose Co. Auxiliary. She worked as a plastic inspector for Tenax Corp in Danbury. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Karen Coombs of Coventry, Donna Cataldo of NC, Susan Van Sauter of New Fairfield, Paula Kerr of FL, and Laura Gallagher of Danbury; her stepson, Douglas Howley of Danbury; sixteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters, Albina "Bea" Arconti of Danbury, Pauline Tita of Danbury, and Jeanette Scalzo of NH; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Frank J. Gallagher; her daughter Catherine Bjelko; her son, Roger Gallagher; and her stepsons William and John Howley. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 26th at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday, January 25th between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00pm.
